THE DESIGNER

Rachel Gorman is a Melbourne based jewellery designer specialising in custom occasion, wedding and engagement jewellery. Her products illustrate the beauty of nature and explore the cultural significance of flowers and botanical forms. Rachel launched her jewellery brand, Rachel Laura Gorman in 2014.

Rachel’s work has been profiled by The Design Files and she has been named one of the top ten Australian jewellers by Urban List. She has been commissioned by leading artists, public figures and institutions, and in 2019 was shortlisted for the MECCA/NGV scholarship award for acclaimed women in business and the arts.

She has given talks on the cultural use of flowers at leading institutions including the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), where alongside botanical artist Criss Canning, and NGV curators Wayne Crothers and Sophie Matthiesson, they explored the symbolism of flowers in art.

Rachel has current collections at e.g.etal and has held previous collections at Pieces of Eight, Studio Ingot, Alice Euphemia and Fat 52. In 2018–2019 she has been approached by the NGV, Craft Victoria, Jam Factory, The Lane, British Vogue, Vogue Australia, Conde Nast Brides, Elle India, Metal & Smith NY, Frankie, Australian Fashion & Textiles trade show, all seeking to represent her products.
